Create two beautiful chain link bracelets from start to finish in two days. One is a double byzantine chain with twisted wire links. Choose either contrasting oxidized links or highly polished links look. This chain looks complicated but is quite easy to learn. The second chain is an elegant foxtail chain. Both bracelets require some soldering which will be taught in a very simplified way using small butane torches.All tools will be provided. Kits of pre-cut jump rings of the correct size, gauge, and quantity for each of the bracelets is available from the instructor. The cost of the kit is $165. Add your own designer clasp (not included).
A native Tucsonan ("It's a dry heat") - Joni started making jewelry in high school and became a metalsmith when she was twenty-one. Over the years, Joni has worked in many capacilities in the jewelry industry, while continuing to learn, create, and teach her craft. Fro many years, Joni taught chain maille classes for Rio Grande at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. Joni recently opened her own studio in Tucson called Get Hammered Metalsmith Studio. Here she plans to teach classes and open her doors to visiting artists for workshops, lectures and demonstrations. Joni resides in Tucson with her husband and two daughters.
